What is an LED grow light and how does it work?

An LED grow light is a specialized artificial lighting fixture that uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to produce wavelengths of light that drive photosynthesis in plants. Unlike standard white LEDs for human illumination, grow lights emit specific spectra — primarily blue (400-500nm) and red (600-700nm) photons — that correspond to the absorption peaks of chlorophyll A and B. Our full spectrum grow lights also include green, far-red, and UV wavelengths to support complete plant development from vegetative growth through flowering and fruiting.

What is PPFD and why does it matter?

PPFD stands for Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density, measured in micromoles per square meter per second (umol/m²/s). It quantifies the amount of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) actually reaching your plant canopy — the light that plants can use for photosynthesis. Higher PPFD generally means faster growth and higher yields, but different crops have optimal PPFD ranges: lettuce thrives at 150-250 umol/m²/s, while tomatoes and cannabis require 400-800+ umol/m²/s during flowering. Our lighting designs include PPFD maps to ensure uniform light distribution across your entire growing area.

What certifications do your LED grow lights have?

Our products carry comprehensive international certifications: ETL and UL for North American electrical safety, CE and RoHS for European market compliance, FCC for electromagnetic compatibility, and DLC for energy efficiency qualification in rebate programs. We also maintain ISO9001:2015 quality management certification. Full certification documentation is provided with every order and available for pre-shipment verification.

Do you offer OEM/ODM manufacturing services?

Yes, OEM and ODM services are a core part of our business. For OEM, we can add your logo, custom packaging, user manuals, and labeling to our standard products. For ODM, our engineering team can design custom fixtures from scratch — including unique housing designs, custom PCB layouts, specific spectrum recipes, special voltage inputs, and proprietary control protocols. Minimum order quantities start at 100 units for OEM and 500 units for full ODM projects. Typical development lead time is 4-6 weeks for OEM and 8-12 weeks for ODM.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ) and pricing?

For standard products without customization, our MOQ is typically 50-100 units per model, depending on the specific fixture. For OEM orders with custom branding/packaging, MOQ is 100 units. For fully custom ODM products, MOQ starts at 500 units. Pricing depends on quantity, specification, and customization level. As a factory-direct manufacturer in Zhongshan, we offer highly competitive wholesale pricing. Please contact us with your specific requirements for a detailed quotation. Sample orders (1-5 units) are available for quality evaluation at sample pricing.

How long is your warranty and what does it cover?

We offer a 3-year standard warranty on all LED grow lights, extendable to 5 years for qualifying bulk orders. The warranty covers LED diode failure, driver malfunction, and significant lumen depreciation below 90% of rated output. It does not cover physical damage, water ingress beyond rated IP level, or unauthorized modifications. For warranty claims, we provide replacement units or repair services. Our LED diodes from Samsung and Osram are rated for 50,000+ hours of operation, and Mean Well/Inventronics drivers typically last 70,000+ hours under normal conditions.

Can you provide lighting design and PPFD simulation?

Yes, we offer complimentary lighting design services for qualified commercial projects. Our engineers use Dialux Evo and AGi32 software to create detailed PPFD uniformity maps, light placement recommendations, and electrical load calculations for your specific growing facility. We analyze your room dimensions, target crop, desired PPFD levels, and existing infrastructure to propose the optimal fixture model, quantity, hanging height, and spacing. This service helps ensure you purchase exactly the right amount of lighting without over- or under-investing.

What is your production lead time and shipping method?

Standard production lead time is 15-25 days after order confirmation and deposit. For large container orders (20ft/40ft), lead time may extend to 30-35 days during peak season. We ship primarily by sea freight (FOB Shenzhen/Guangzhou) for cost-effective bulk delivery. Air freight and express courier (DHL/FedEx/UPS) are available for urgent samples and small orders. We handle all export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and certification copies. Door-to-door logistics can be arranged for full container loads to major destinations.
